Local context

What we paint in Beerwah.

Beerwah started as a farming and timber town, with the railway arriving in 1890 and soldier settlements spreading the farms after the First World War. It stayed that way until the 1980s, when houses started going up in earnest. The 2021 census put it at 7,734 people. That history shows up in the work: original timber cottages on one street, 1990s brick two streets over.

What we watch for

Substrate and exposure notes.

The old timber stock out here has the same lead risk as Maleny and the Glasshouse farmhouses, so pre-1970 layers get tested before we sand. Newer Beerwah builds are straightforward by comparison. Sitting inland at the base of the range, walls see far less salt than the coast but more shade and morning damp.
