Aura is the Coast's biggest new-build estate, and the best interior painting job there is the one that happens before anybody moves in. Between settlement and the removalist you get an empty house with no furniture to shift, no rooms that have to stay usable, and no reason to work in stages. We can run the whole place in one go, which is faster and cheaper than the same work done a year later around a family. The catch is that the window is short and it's fixed at both ends.

We work backwards from your removalist date rather than forwards from settlement, because the removalist is the deadline that cannot move. Empty houses also let us spray where it makes sense, which is much faster on a full-house colour change than brushing every room. There's no furniture to mask and no floor coverings down yet, so the setup that normally costs half a day takes an hour.

For a standard four-bedroom colour change we need about a week, longer if ceilings are included. In an empty house we can spray where it makes sense, which is much faster than rolling every room. If the window is genuinely too tight we will say so rather than rushing and handing you a finish you will notice every day.

The empty house window
The best time to paint is before the furniture lands.
Empty is meaningfully cheaper
No furniture to shift or mask, no floors to protect, no room that has to stay usable overnight. That is a large part of the labour on an occupied repaint, and it comes straight off.
Spray becomes practical
With nothing in the house, spraying a full colour change is far quicker than rolling every room. Windows and fittings still need masking, so it is not free, but on a whole interior it usually wins.
The removalist is the deadline
Settlement can move. The removalist rarely does. We plan backwards from the truck rather than forwards from the keys, because only one of those two dates is genuinely fixed.

Give us the removalist date.
That is the only date in the process that will not move. We work back from it and tell you the latest we can start on a four bedroom colour change.

Confirm the ceilings.
Ceilings add real time to a whole-house run, so they get decided before booking rather than added mid-week when there is no slack left in the window.

Mask, then spray.
Windows and fittings masked, then the house sprayed while it is still empty. Setup that would take half a day around furniture takes about an hour here.

Hand it back clean.
Walked through with you before the truck arrives, touch-ups done, leftovers labelled. If settlement slips, call us the day before and we’ll move the booking.

How long do I actually need between settlement and moving in?

Is it cheaper to paint before we move in?
